Branch Manager

Tony joined Securitas on the 9th July 2001 as a Duty Supervisor. Responsibilities included site visits and Officer Welfare checks informing management of any potential risks and suggest best practise, offer support and advise to officers.

In 2002, Tony was appointed to the position of Assistant Branch Manager. His role was to ensure the smooth running of the branch and to offer full support and assistance to the Branch Manager.

In 2004 the Private Security Services Act was passed into law and the Private Security Authority (PSA), the statutory body with responsibility for licensing and regulating the private security industry in Ireland was set up. The PSA started licensing security contractors in 2006 and security employees in 2007. Tony was appointed as Training Development and Standards Manager tasked with ensuring Securitas was fully compliant with all statutory requirements to obtain their Contractors license. He also oversaw the training of all officers and ensured all officer license applications were completed correctly.

As Standards Manager, he was responsible for ensuring the company was fully compliant with all relevant standards including IS999:2004 (now PSA 28:2013), IS9001:2008 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001. This resulted in the company successfully passing all external audits.

In January 2015, Tony was appointed Branch Manager for Securitas Mobile. Though a difficult challenge, he embraced this and helped in its growth and development.

From January 2019, Tony has taken over the running of a new Commercial Branch.

Tony is also a Director of the Security Institute of Ireland and advises on risk and security matters at corporate and regulatory levels in Ireland.

His qualifications include Certified Trainer in RTV (Responding to threats and Violence), Train the Trainer (FETAC Level 6), Crisis Prevention Intervention, Manual Handling and Risk

Management. He is also certified as an Internal Auditor. He was a contributor to the Security Institute Skills Manual and other SII Manuals.

Tony was Chairman of the Guarding Committee in the Security Institute. He chaired the SII committee in negotiations with the Private Security Authority on the new industry standard, PSA 28:2013.
