Securitas’ Risk Intelligence Center (RIC), led by director Mike Evans, includes analysts based around the world working in global, threat, protective, and risk intelligence, each with unique backgrounds and skills. Their mission is to empower organizations with what Mike calls “the decision-making advantage” – in other words, all the intelligence they need when making decisions, and the confidence that they’re making the right decisions, when mitigating threats and managing risks.
True intelligence requires human expertise, using analysis and assessment to generate real insight. While technology excels at collecting and processing data quickly, it's the human element, Mike says, that adds depth and specificity to intelligence. Mike’s experience in the military sparked his passion for intelligence and security. Working both in hands-on operational and strategic roles, he developed a deep commitment to protecting others and making a meaningful impact - aligning perfectly with Securitas’ mission to create a safer world.
Since Mike joined Securitas in 2019, the RIC team has evolved from a dedicated unit of two people into a global operation of 60 analysts – including embedded resources working with clients across the globe in various industries and sectors.
The diverse team brings experience from both public and private sectors, with expertise in areas such as national security and public safety, counterterrorism and counterintelligence, executive protection, cybersecurity and geopolitics. This mix of backgrounds is key to providing the highest quality of intelligence, Mike says.
Four teams, one mission
The team is divided into four specialized operations.
- Global Intelligence operates 24/7, with analysts working in shifts, each specializing in a specific region to provide geographically targeted intelligence.
- Protective Intelligence provides organization and industry-specific intelligence across sectors such as aerospace and defense, critical national infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, technology and financial services, among others.
- Risk Intelligence Consultancy works on specialized projects to meet specific customer requirements.
- Embedded Analysts are placed within client organizations to provide dedicated support.
