    This notice sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

    The www.securitas.ie website is maintained by Securitas Security Services Limited Ireland.

    We provide security services to customers including mobile security, guarding security electronic and technical security. Securitas Security Services Ireland fully respects your right to privacy, and will not collect any personal information about you on this website without your clear permission. Any personal information which you volunteer will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 (as amended) and from 25th of May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR) (the Acts)

    Securitas takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data and Securitas is constantly working to protect your personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration, unauthorized disclosure of or unauthorized access to the personal data transferred, stored or otherwise processed by Securitas.

    What information do we collect from you?

    You may give us information by:

    • Personal data you give us directly: We collect data about how you use our services, such as the types of content you view or engage with, or the frequency and duration of your activities. We also collect personal data you provide us when you fill in the contact form or self-assessment or when you interact with our chatbot or complete a survey.
    • Personal data we collect automatically: We also receive and store certain types of personal data whenever you interact with us online. For example, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to obtain personal data when your web browser accesses our websites or advertisements, and other content served by or on behalf of Securitas on other websites. During some of your internet browsing on Securitas websites we may also use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We may also collect technical information to help us identify your device for fraud prevention and diagnostic purposes.
    • Personal data we collect from other sources: We collect personal data from other sources including our trusted partnerships with third parties. For example, we receive information about you and other visitors’ interactions with our advertising to measure whether our advertising is relevant and successful.
    • Marketing and communications data: Information on when You receive and read marketing communications from us, open email/ click data, newsletters requests, events you attend and marketing and communication preferences. Additional information about the personal data we process in connection with marketing is included with the marketing communications we send You and your interaction with us (clicks, your navigations on the website). Chatbot conversations (anything submitted by a data subject into the chat box when using the chatbot) to navigate You to the requested content.
    • Usage technical and browsing data: Your use of our websites, language used, IP address (including information about the company that provides the IP address), log data, device data, unique device identifies, cookies and other data linked to a device, data usage of our websites, user generated data.
    • Conversation logs: We may record conversations with the chatbot for quality improvement, troubleshooting and dispute resolution.
    • Corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise: We ask you to disclose only as much information as is necessary to provide you with our services or to submit a question/suggestion/comment in relation to our site or our services.
    • Filling in forms: on www.securitas.ie (our site) such as the contact us form.
    • Applying to work with us: The type of information you may provide your CV, a cover letter, your name, address, e-mail address and phone number. CVs should include information relevant to your employment history and education (degrees obtained, places worked, positions held, relevant awards, and so forth). We ask that you do not disclose sensitive personal information (e.g. gender, height, weight, medical information, religion, philosophical or political beliefs, financial data) in your application.
    • Hiring Securitas: Customers supply us with information which may include employee’s contact details; a contact name; email; business address; telephone number and billing payment details.
    • CCTV Images: are recorded for the Health & Safety, dispute resolution and security of the people we support, our staff/Visitors, buildings & vehicles, information located or stored on the premises, and assets including our Mobile Fleet.

    Why do we collect this information?

    We collect the information in order to provide you with our services, to market our services, to improve our site and to recruit staff.

    We will use this information:

    • to set your company up as a client on our systems;
    • to liaise with you about projects that we are undertaking with you;
    • for prospective employees to create a candidate profile for you;
    • to administer and improve our site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;
    • as part of our efforts to keep our site safe and secure;
    • to deliver information about our products and services, where you have subscribed to receive same.

    Profiling

    Securitas uses profiling in limited circumstances relating to our marketing activities. Securitas combines data obtained to build the client marketing profile which helps us determine what products and services might be of interest to You as a client or prospective client and when You might be ready to make a purchase based on repeated interaction with our websites, emails, and content (e.g. on the basis of engagement scoring derived from Your interaction with our content such as open clicks, webforms sent, etc.).

    For instance, if we see that You are regularly viewing articles dedicated to small and medium enterprises on our website, and You clicked on our advertisement for small and medium enterprises we may tailor our web content to Your interests. The automated solution profiles the information to evaluate Your interest in our service offerings and/or promotions. This enables us to identify and target prospective clients and/or business partners and aims to provide You with relevant and timely content based on Your indicated interests. Securitas marketing and sales personnel are involved in this process and no automated decisions are made that would result in legal effects or similarly significantly affect an individual.

    For this purpose, we store one or more cookies on Your end device, with the help of which we collect information for marketing and optimization purposes, which in turn is stored and further processed on the third-party servers. The collected information can be combined with Your further details as our current client or which You voluntarily leave on our website by analysing the information about Your online behaviour and Your interactions with Securitas content, for example by accepting cookies and similar technologies via our cookie banner, to create a client profile.

    You can always object to the direct marketing and related profiling, and we will always respect Your decision.     Transparency about GenAI

    When using chatbot on our website, you are interacting with a generative AI. This technology allows us to provide automatically generated responses to your inquiries. While the chatbot is trained to be informative and comprehensive, please note that it is continuously being improved and refined.

    Who might we share this information with?

    We may share your information with our selected business associates, suppliers and contractors to provide you with our services. For example, these business partners may include our web hosting provider and our IT service providers. Where an assessment of your credit score is a condition of us entering into a contract with you, we will share information with our selected credit reference agencies.

    In addition, we may disclose your personal information to third parties:

    • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we will disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
    • If we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case information held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets.

    How long do we keep hold of your information?

    The time periods for which we retain your information depends on the type of information and the purposes for which we use it. We will keep your information for no longer than is required or permitted.

    Where are we processing your data?

    We may share your personal data to our subsidiaries or affiliated companies for the purpose of that the relevant subsidiary or affiliated company will process your personal data to respond to your request. Consequently, we will only transfer your personal data to the subsidiary or affiliated company that needs to receive your personal data in order to provide you with the information you have requested. By submitting the request form, you consent to our transfer of your personal data to our subsidiaries or affiliated companies that may be established in a country outside the EU/EEA (i.e. a so-called third country), including countries which the EU Commission does not consider to have an adequate level of protection for personal data. Please be aware that countries which are outside the EU/EEA may not offer the same level of data protection as the EU/EEA and, thus, you may not have the same rights as under the laws applicable to us.

    We may transfer your personal data to our subsidiaries or affiliated companies established in any of the countries (including so-called third countries) listed on a web page that you can access by clicking on the globe icon in the upper right-hand corner of this website.

    Third party service providers: The personal data that we collect from you may be transferred to and processed by a third party service provider established in a country outside the EU/EEA (i.e. a so-called third country), including countries which the EU Commission does not consider to have an adequate level of protection for personal data. In such case we will take all necessary steps required under applicable law in order for such transfer of your personal data across borders to be compliant with applicable law.     • The right to ask us to provide your information to you in a portable format or, where technically feasible, for us to port that information to another provider provided it does not result in a disclosure of information relating to other people.

    When you become our customer the processing of your information, and/or that of your team who you nominate to liaise with us, will become a condition of the contract between us as we require certain information in order to be able to provide you with our services (e.g. contact information). In those circumstances, if you do not wish us to process your information we may be unable to provide our services to you.
