Job Description
Overview
The SOC Operator is responsible for using best practices to identify, analyze, and support all incidents that are either impactful or potentially impactful to all customer business areas, the brand and or employees/visitors/vendors/partners.
Excellent communications and exemplary client services skills are needed as this position is fully responsible for using best practices for communicating information professionally surrounding those incidents to leadership as appropriate using written, verbal, and technical means. The SOC Operator will monitor cameras, systems and alarms, dispatch associated calls via telephone and radio, operate access control technology, and provide general assistance to both employees and guests.
The SOC operator supports a Region and field teams as they prepare for, respond to, and recover from both crisis and non-crisis incidents. The SOC operator will have excellent and demonstrable PC abilities.
Reports to: Security Operations Supervisor
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Answering routine and emergency calls effectively, monitoring alarms and video equipment including fire alarms, door alarms, and duress alarms and provides general assistance to both employees and guests.
2. Maintains various records of communications and events contemporaneously.
3. Use multiple internal and external resources to gather and manage information and intelligence.
4. Escalate (without delay) complaints and all relevant unusual/critical event/incident information to the Supervisor or next in the chain of command.
5. Accurately maintains control of all equipment and keys in the SOC. Accurately logs all equipment and keys signed out and returned by Security or other parties.
6. Informs (without delay) the Supervisor of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems
7. Proactively monitors all surveillance cameras and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security and safety system alarms.
8. Answers and responds to events and situations received over regular and emergency phones and intercoms. Controls and monitors the two-way communication systems.
Qualifications
Special skills and attributes include:
1. Relevant security background experience, licensing, and certificates as applicable according to the local Irish legislation.
2. Excellent and demonstrable computer hardware and software knowledge and operations.
3. Excellent verbal, and communication skills and exemplary customer services.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to multi-ask, discerns patterns in detail.
6. Think through problems for logical solutions and remain calm and professional under stress.
7. Strong decision-making ability during both crisis and non-crisis situations.
8. Able to work with highly confidential information
