Customer challenges
A construction company contacted us to help protect their client’s premises during the construction phase. The client required a flexible and effective security solution to safeguard the site while construction activities were ongoing.
At the time, there were no active security systems in the building, creating a need for temporary security measures that could be deployed quickly and provide appropriate protection across the premises.
Our assessment
Our team conducted a comprehensive site assessment with a Securitas Advisor to understand the site’s specific security requirements, identify potential vulnerabilities and determine the most appropriate combination of technology and physical security measures.
Based on the assessment, we recommended a temporary security solution designed specifically for the construction environment.
Our solutions
Tailored security approach
We proposed and implemented a temporary Electronic Security (ES) solution, combining intelligent surveillance technology with physical security measures.
The solution included:
- RDTa mobile CCTV towers, strategically positioned around the site and equipped with AI-enabled camera technology to provide intelligent monitoring of the areas requiring protection. Monitoring focused specifically on the required areas of the client’s premises, with no public spaces monitored.
- Mobile response and patrols to provide a physical security presence and response capability.
The RDTa provided a rapidly deployable, autonomous CCTV solution that could be positioned according to the site’s changing security requirements. The system is designed to protect single or multiple assets and provides wide-area surveillance, with a range of up to 50 metres in each direction.
Intelligent RDTa Surveillance
The RDTa combines multiple CCTV cameras with AI analytics, helping to distinguish genuine security events from environmental factors such as wildlife and weather conditions, reducing unnecessary false alarms. It also incorporates visible and audible deterrents, including a 360° LED light and 100-decibel siren, providing an additional layer of protection.
Its autonomous design makes it particularly suitable for construction and other sites where permanent security infrastructure or power may not yet be available. The RDTa can operate using solar power with battery backup or mains power, providing flexibility for different site conditions.
The modular design allows the tower to be rapidly deployed and transported without requiring heavy logistics such as cranes or forklifts. This supported the need for a flexible temporary security solution that could be adapted as the construction project progressed.
Crucially, the RDTa solution was configured to monitor only the areas requiring protection. No public spaces were monitored, ensuring that surveillance remained focused on the client’s premises and the identified security requirements.
Mobile response and patrols
To complement the technology, mobile patrols were introduced to provide an additional physical security presence.
The combination of intelligent CCTV monitoring and mobile patrols created a layered security approach, with technology providing continuous surveillance and patrols providing a physical response capability.

The airlock recommendations are currently under review by the customer and could provide an additional layer of protection as the project progresses.
