This Thursday 24th July, we proudly celebrate Security Officer Appreciation Day – a moment to recognise and thank our dedicated Security Officers across Ireland and around the world.
Your professionalism, vigilance, and unwavering commitment form the foundation of everything we do at Securitas. Every day, you demonstrate what it means to protect people, property, and peace of mind – often behind the scenes and without fanfare. Today, we shine a well-deserved spotlight on your invaluable contributions.
“I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for the incredible work you do every day as Security Officers. This day means a lot to me personally, and I carry it with me always. I started my journey back in 1995 as an Officer in a tiny TW unit at the back of a building site. We had a diesel-generated heat system that would probably make Health & Safety cringe today!
I remember using a block Bosch radio, Safety23, patrolling fence lines in the dead of winter with an old key clock system that you wind like a grandfather clock. My companions were a small transistor radio for the night owls and the evening press newspaper as my survival guide for the night. No phones, no computers, no social media—just print. Those were simpler times, and little did I know they were my first steps toward becoming the MD of Securitas Security Services.
I could share loads of fascinating stories from my journey—some funny, some sad, some indifferent—but that's for another day.
Today, I just want to express my heartfelt appreciation for all the great work you do. I have always been, and will always be, an Officer at heart.
